Retaliation against workers is a national emergency and the source of significant economic disruption for local communities across the country.

Across the country, workers are making workplaces safer, happier, and healthier for all by speaking out against sexual harassment, discrimination, and unsafe conditions and speaking together so that wealthy corporations provide safety, thriving wages, and dignity on the job. However, instead of reforms or recognition, bad bosses are responding by cutting hours, blocking promotions, performing mass layoffs, and even closing entire stores or warehouses.

That’s why we’re FiredUp!

The FiredUp! campaign is pushing for government action to take the weapon of retaliation out of corporations’ hands, hold them accountable, and provide immediate relief to workers when bad bosses fire them for asserting their rights.

All workers want is fair pay to be able to provide for their families, and better working conditions so they know they will make it home safe at the end of their shifts. Let's join together to support these workers and show corporations that we will not tolerate retaliation against those who dare to demand respect, better working conditions, and a livable wage.

FiredUp! on the Hill

In September, workers from across the country took to Capitol Hill to alert lawmakers about the national crisis of retaliation and urge them to seek solutions at every branch of government.

We met with Senators and Representatives throughout the day, then workers joined us for a Congressional briefing. The briefing highlighted the testimonies of workers who have recently faced retaliation,  including Amazon workers who have been striking for over two months after the company terminated their contract for organizing a union, Houston COVID-19 testers who were exposed on the job and then fired when they asked to be paid, and coffee and hotel workers terminated for defending their coworkers.

Workers are FiredUp!

Mass firings at the hands of corporations undermines & threatens our democracy.

Mass firings at the hands of corporations disrupt the economy, undermine and threaten our democracy, and throw workers’ lives into chaos. In response to this threat, the FiredUp! Solidarity Network is helping provide worker leaders the support they need to fight back – including direct relief so workers can keep food on their tables and opportunities to build and scale active campaigns to reach new workers.

We urgently need your support to create a community support network that will help protect these workers in the face of corporate retaliation. You can show these workers that they can stand firm for their rights when you make a donation.
